Miqdad: Israeli Occupation is Cause of Problems in Region

DAMASCUS,(SANA- Syria news agency)- Syria, who adopted the peace choice, is determined to restore her occupied land completely till June 4th 1967 line by all possible means in a case of Israel refused to peacefully withdraw from it, Syria's Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Faisal Miqdad said Sunday.

Dr. Miqdad, receiving a delegation of the UN Fact Finding Committee to investigate the Israeli practices in the occupied Arab territories, stressed that continuation of Israeli occupation of the Syrian Golan , Palestinian territories and Lebanese Shabaa Farms is the main cause of the problems in the region.

"Israeli continued ignorance of the relevant UN resolutions represents a challenge that the international community has to find the means to react it by the appropriate way," Dr. Miqdad added.

He reviewed the political developments in the region including the suffering of our people in the occupied Syrian Golan particularly the Syrian citizens of Golan's sons at the Israeli prisons who some of them are still held there for more than 30 years, emphasizing the necessity to work to immediately and unconditionally release them.

For their part members of delegation thanked Deputy Foreign Minister for the full political review, stressing that they will submit a report to the UN General Assembly including the information presented by Syria about the Israeli practices in the occupied Arab territories including the occupied Syrian Golan .

The delegation, who currently visits Syria, headed by the permanent ambassador of Serlanka to the UN and the membership of ambassadors of Malaysia and Senegal.
