IMRA spoke with Sheikh Dr. Ekrima Sabri, the Mufti of Jerusalem, today via telephone with the translation assistance of Dr. Michael Widlanski - a lecturer at the Rothberg School of The Hebrew University
Question: Is it permitted for non-Moslems, for example Jews in Hebron, to pray in a mosque after an Israeli withdrawal from Hebron? [AL: The Cave of the Patriarchs is also known as The Mosque of Ibrahim]
Sheikh Dr. Ekrima Sabri: As long as there is a political protocol.
Question: So from the standpoint of Islam and religious law if there is a political protocol it is not prohibited?
Sabri: Yes.
