Hände weg von Israel und Islam!
Declaration By The Rabbis Of The Sharon Area Concerning The Present Crisis In The Land Of Israel
2005-06-30
[Translation]
It is the stated intention of the Sharon Government to hand over parts of the Land of Israel to our enemies by expelling the Jews from their homes. We see this as a direct violation of Torah law and which contradicts the ancient visions handed down to us by our prophets. Military analysts have also warned against this edict as it will undoubtedly compromise our security and lead to an increase in terrorism.
Therefore, we call on the Government of the State of Israel to nullify this decree and not to expel Jews from their homes. We call on all our brethren to unify and to work together in order to abolish this evil edict. We believe that we can stop this travesty if all the members of our communities will join together according to the principle handed down to us of "repentance, prayer and charity as the way to nullify evil decrees." We urge the members of our communities to fight this edict solely by peaceful and democratic methods and to avoid at all costs any acts, which can G-D forbid lead to unnecessary provocations and civil war.
We extend our blessings to our brothers living in Gush Katif and the North Shomron. We admire their courage and strength in the face of outside pressures and scare tactics. May G-D give them the strength to continue in their valiant efforts to rebuild Eretz Yisrael.
We wish to acknowledge and extend our gratitude to our soldiers who bravely stand on the frontlines guarding all of us, while engaged in a bitter struggle with our cruel and murderous enemies.
May it be G-D's will that the following verse will soon see fruition, "We shall dwell securely in our land." We proclaim to all the worlds' inhabitants that the Land of Israel belongs to us, the Jewish People, and pray that we will soon be worthy to witness the rescinding of this evil edict.
Therefore, we have gathered here to collectively join together in promoting unity among ourselves and our people while affirming our ancient and inseparable bond to the Torah and our Holy Land.
The Rabbinical Council of the Sharon for the Land of Israel.
