GAZA, Palestine, February20, 2005(IPC+ Al-Ayam)-[Official PA website]-The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abass, renowned as "Abu Mazen" stated on Saturday that he is seeking to clinch a deal for cease fire with the armed resistance factions not to use force against them.
Interviewed by the German Der Spiegel magazine, Abu Mazen said that the Palestinian National Authority is not intended to battle with Palestinian factions but to strike an a agreement.
Mr. Abass pointed out that the military wings of Hams and Fateh movements should be integrated in the Palestinian security forces.
He added "we will never allow the possession of illegal weapons. The armed groups have to hand over their weapons before any thing else."
Abass noted that the PNA will intervene to enforce law and order when it is necessary.
As regards the Israeli withdrawal, Abbas pledged that there will be no violence by the Palestinians during the Israeli evacuation of the settlers from Gaza Strip.
Speaking out the outstanding issues Abbas made sure that the occupied east Jerusalem will be the future capital of the Palestinian independent and sovereign state as well as the removal of the Israeli existing illegal settlements in the West Bank.
"The Palestinian state is impossible to be established with small pieces of land." Abbas told the German magazine.
Abu Mazen also said he is ready to negotiate over the Palestinian refugees issue but he asserted that even though the refugee's right is uncompromising, he is ready for negotiating over the place the Palestinian refugees have to return back.
"There are five millions of the Palestinian refugees, we are fully aware not all of them will return back "Abbas remarked, he added that a large number of the refugees do not willing to return back " they are living a welfare life in the USA or Jordan."
