Joint Search and Rescue Exercise Between Israel, Turkey and the United States of America in the Mediterranean Sea.
As part of the annual exercise schedule, the navies of Turkey, Israel and the United States of America will conduct their seventh combined Search and Rescue exercise in international waters off the Israeli coast in mid January 2005.
Several ships and aircraft of the three navies will participate in the exercise.
The objective of this exercise is to practice coordinated emergency search and rescue procedures in order to save lives in times of distress at sea.
By familiarizing themselves with each other's capabilities and working together, elements of the three naval forces which regularly operate in the Mediterranean Sea will be able to provide humanitarian aid and more effective responses to actual maritime emergencies.
