Positive Atmosphere prevails on Syria-US Money Talks

A positive atmosphere has prevailed over the round of talks that took place in Bahrain yesterday between senior Syrian and US financial officials to deal with some pending issues.
Minister of Finance Mohammed al-Hussein held a meeting with a delegation of the US Treasury Department headed by Assistant Secretary of Treasury Juan Zrate . Both sides continued discussions that have been started in Damascus and Washington and agreed to carry on dialogue to reach at the aspired to results.
The Minister also held talks with Bahraini counterpart Abdullah Hasan Seif to complete discussions over the Joint Syrian- Bahraini Bank after they agreed to continue meetings and works to build this bank as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Syria took part at the technical meetings to build the regional office to combat money laundry and terror financing. Another meeting has been held between the Syrian delegation and the International Bank of Gulf to discuss means of activating cooperation between Syrian banks and the International Bank of the Gulf as well as with the Commercial Bank of Syria.
