The Visit of the Polish Chief of Staff

The chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Moshe Yaalon, is hosting the Polish army Chief of Staff, Four stars General Czeslaw Piatas, as his formal guest.
The Polish Chief of Staff will be welcomed today, November 28 2004, in a formal ceremony presided by the Chief of Staff in the General Staff Headquarters in Tel-Aviv.
During the visit, the Polish Chief of Staff is expected to participate in a professional panel chaired by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General Dan Halutz, which will include reviews by IDF officers on various subjects, among them an intelligence review regarding regional threats, security challenges facing the IDF and navel protection.
During the panel discussion the Polish Chief of Staff will discuss the lessons learnt from the Polish army's participation both in the war in Iraq and in the Peace Keeping Forces.
In addition, the Polish Chief of Staff will visit IDF bases, the Polish battalion of the U.N. in the Golan Heights, the Western Wall and the "Yad Vashem" holocaust remembrance institute.
The Polish Chief of Staff will also visit defense industry sites and will meet the Minister of Defense.
The visit of the Polish Chief of Staff is an important aspect of the positive cooperation between the IDF and the Polish army.
