PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, Oct 12, SPA[Saudi Press Agency] -- A senior Palestinian official said Sunday that Palestinians are entitled to fight Israel "by all means," and continue their just struggle against the Israeli occupation.

Farouk Kaddoumi is representing the Palestinians at a weeklong series of meetings and summit of the Organization of Islamic Conference. Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat is prevented from leaving Ramallah by the Israeli military. "Pursuing the armed struggle is a must, as it is the only solution in sight to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict," Kaddoumi, the de facto Palestinian foreign minister, told the Malaysian national news agency "Bernama." "We must continue our struggle against the occupation. This is the only solution to our problem." Kaddoumi, the head of the Palestine Liberation Organization's political department, said attempts by the Palestinians to free their homeland should not be equated to terrorism, as the United Nations Charter allows people under occupation fight for their freedom.

"There is a difference between terrorism and trying to liberate occupied lands," Kaddoumi was quoted as saying. "As long as our lands are occupied, why are we accused of terrorism. The U.N. Charter states that we should fight by all means."" --SPA
